Frequently
Asked Questions
What's
the difference between glass in a windshield and the glass
in the rest of my car?
Windshields
are made of a laminated safety glass while the side and rear
windows are made of tempered glass. Laminated safety glass
is two pieces of glass with a layer of vinyl sandwiched
between, so it will stay intact in a collision. Tempered
glass has been treated to make it much stronger than other
glass of the same thickness. If it breaks, it is designed to
shatter into small pieces.
Will
the windshield that is installed be of the same quality as
my factory original glass?
Yes.
We use quality OEM replacement glass from companies like
PPG, Pilkington, and Carlite.
Will
my insurance pay to replace my windshield?
Possibly.
Comprehensive insurance is what covers the repair or
replacement of a windshield. Your deductible for
comprehensive is how much you pay to have your windshield
replaced. So, if you have a $100 deductible you pay $100. If
you have a $0 deductible you pay nothing. Also, if the
damage to your windshield does not require replacement, most
insurance companies will repair it at no cost to you.
